Terms of Service
Acceptable use
DocuChan is for sharing files you have the right to share. You may not use it to distribute malware, illegal content, or material that infringes others' rights, nor to harass or defraud.
Abuse & takedown
Every file can be reported. We may remove content and block access in response to reports or legal process. Repeated or automated abuse will be rate-limited and blocked.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is". Files may be deleted at any time per their expiry or burn settings; do not rely on DocuChan as storage or backup.
Limits
Free use is subject to size, retention, and rate limits that may change.
Beam transfers
Beam moves files directly between devices; we never store them and can never read them, so there is nothing for us to scan, link to, or take down. We protect the device-introduction service with rate and connection limits, and the acceptable-use rules above apply equally to anything you send over Beam.
Clipboard transfers
Clipboard moves text and images directly between browsers and does not store them on DocuChan. Temporary device-introduction records are rate-limited and expire automatically. The acceptable-use rules above apply to anything sent with Clipboard.
Rooms collaboration
Rooms has no server backup or recovery service. If no participant browser retains a local copy, DocuChan cannot restore the document. The complete invitation link contains the capability needed to decrypt room content; protect it accordingly. When a room is locked, the host must also approve a new participant before they can connect. Display names and host status are self-asserted session metadata, not verified legal identities. Any approved participant can retain or export content they receive. Rooms prefers direct peer-to-peer connectivity and may use an encrypted TURN relay when needed; connectivity is still not guaranteed across every network, firewall, or browser. The acceptable-use rules above apply to everything created or shared in Rooms.
