How to merge PDF files

  1. Choose or drop the PDFs you want to combine. They are joined in the order you pick them.

  2. Drag pages into the order you want. Rotate, delete, or add pages if needed.

  3. Name the file and save it. You can also send it securely without downloading it first.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the page order before saving?

Yes. After the files are combined, every page appears as a thumbnail. Drag pages, use the arrow buttons, or press Alt (Option) with the arrow keys to move them.

Are bookmarks and form fields kept?

Pages and their content are kept, but the bookmarks, fillable form fields, accessibility tags, and page labels of combined files don’t carry over. DocuChan tells you when that happens.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Yes, if you know the password. You type it in this tab and it is only used to open the file locally. The merged copy is not password protected.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and changed by code running in this browser tab. The tools page blocks network connections for file processing, so the document, its pages, and any password you type stay on your device.

How large can the PDF be?

Up to 150 MB per file, 300 MB in total when you work with several files, and 500 pages. Very large or complex documents also depend on your device’s memory.

Is it free?

Yes. The PDF tools are free to use, need no account, and add no watermark.
