Split PDF files privately in your browser
Break a PDF into separate files by page ranges, every few pages, or one file per page, without uploading it.
How to split a PDF
Choose or drop the PDF you want to split.
Enter page ranges (like 1-3, 5, 8-), pick a number of pages per file, or make one file per page.
Save the parts. Two or more parts download together as one ZIP file.
Frequently asked questions
How do I write page ranges?
Separate ranges with commas. 1-3 means pages 1 to 3, 5 is a single page, and 8- runs from page 8 to the end. Each range becomes its own PDF.
Can I extract just a few pages?
Yes. Select the pages in the page grid and choose Extract to save them as one PDF, or enter them as a single range.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without re-encoding text or images.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and changed by code running in this browser tab. The tools page blocks network connections for file processing, so the document, its pages, and any password you type stay on your device.
How large can the PDF be?
Up to 150 MB per file, 300 MB in total when you work with several files, and 500 pages. Very large or complex documents also depend on your device’s memory.
Is it free?
Yes. The PDF tools are free to use, need no account, and add no watermark.
